kind of lost in translation

Ever have a project start out great in your mind but your hands aren't listening?    This is mine for today.  


My 4yo is the best little budding artist but what parent doesn't have the best little _____?  

My plan was to dress up a little t-shirt with the artwork. I scanned the drawing onto the laptop as a jpeg and imported into MTC with no problems. It would have been a lot easier  if it was in black ink.

This is where things took a turn and the exit I was forced to take.

This is not how I wanted it to turn out but I was committed when the vinyl started cutting. There are so many things wrong with this 1) I don't even want to get into cutter performance 2) I forgot to mirror the image 3) I had to choose between negative & positive image and loss of detail because the cut was soooo bad.

Even though it didn't turn out as I planned the kid sees the beauty in the things Mom makes and is running around proudly showing it off.

The 1st of many things

     The 1st of June, 1st day of Hurricane season, I could go on & on but I'm here for the 1st day this blog goes "live".
     Here goes...
I'm a fan of MTC (Make the Cut) and a couple of other programs but this is just about MTC.  It's very  user friendly and just plain fun to use.  My DH has shown me no less than 50 million different times how to use Photoshop to make simple designs but with MTC I was able to ooops my way into something awesome.  I also had great tutorial help from Jin Y and the MTC Forum.
  These are some flowers I made using just basic shapes from the gallery.

I'll try to include recipes in the future but check out  SuperJoy's blog for great instructions on how to construct ones like these.
